E -book sales still a 'slowdown'
An article posted on May 2013 by USA TODAY, a multi-platform news and information media company. It talked about the increase in e-book sale (Internet). However, it can cannot be compared with sales of printed books. In the article, it says...
"Preliminary data from the annual BookStats study, released Wednesday by the Association of American Publishers and the Book Industry Study Group, shows that 457 million e-books were sold last year. That's up 4456% since 2008, when just 10 million e-books were sold.
But it's still fewer than the 557 million hardcovers sold last year.
Mr Michael Pietsch, CEO of the Hachette Book Group adds, "In all the talk about e-books, we often lose track of the fact that more than three out of four books sold in the U.S. are still printed ones.""

Another article by USA Today, a survey done last year by Hachette Book Group proved that half of all readers had no interest in buying e-books and that the vast majority of people who buy e-books continue to buy print books as well.
Many readers thinks that e-books are essential when traveling, that is the main reason for the increase in e-books, connivence. However, E readers still buy printed books. This shows that printed books still hold a place in people's hearts.
From these article, we can see that even thought with the increase in e-books provided by the internet. People still prefer buying printed books. Printed books still hold a bigger market compared to e-books. Thus, books will not die out as there is still a large number of readers who prefer papers to screens.
